Position Concept:

This Senior Financial Analyst position will participate in the development, evaluation and analysis of financial data as it relates to Accounts Receivable and other financial areas. This position will directly support the A/R manager.


Duties:Specific Responsibilities:

• Assist the A/R Manager an estimated 75% of the time; the remainder will be assisting the Controller

• Assist the A/R Manager in analysis and proposals regarding settlements with major customers

• Create financial reports and monitor metrics relating to account receivable function and status of accounts

• Evaluate processes, systems and procedures for efficiency of workflow

• Identify needed process improvement and analyze system design alternatives for the A/R and related financial accounting systems

• Interact with the IT staff to resolve issues and problems related to A/R and other financial systems

• Develop and administer risk-management and loss-prevention programs on credit and general corporate liability insurance

• Assist in maintaining banking relationships and related treasury functions

• Prepare cash flow models and forecasts

• Ensure that the appropriate documentation is maintained on all banking accounts


Other Duties & Responsibilities:

• Special projects as assigned by the A/R Manager and the Controller

Job Scope:

This position reports directly to the A/R Manager with special projects assigned by the Controller. While it has recurring tasks, it includes duties which involve a high degree of complexity due to the nature of analysis work in accounts receivable and finance. Duties are performed independently, relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A certain degree of creativity and use of discretion are required. The position requires sound business judgment and responsibility for decisions made as they impact people, costs, and the quality of the department’s work product. Erroneous decisions will have a serious impact on the overall success of functional and organizational operations.

Continual contacts are both internally with all staff as well as outside vendors
Qualifications:Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Experience working effectively with fully integrated financial systems; working knowledge of PC based applications including Excel; knowledge of Oracle or similar ERP systems and data base reporting tools such as Business Objects, Hyperion or Cognos

• Strong analytical skills and proven ability to solve problems and find solutions

• Ability to maintain good working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, management, and others

• Excellent time management, organizational and follow-through required

• Ability to communicate clearly and succinctly both orally and in writing using English

• High professional ethical standards


Education and or Experience:

• A degree in Accounting or Finance or related field from an accredited University or College is preferred or the equivalent combination of education and experience to perform the specific responsibilities of the position

• Minimum of 5-7 years experience as a Financial Analyst and use of financial accounting systems is needed


Job Conditions:

• Work is normally performed in a typical interior office work environment

• Hours may exceed 40 hours per week

• Ability to work with tight time lines in an ever changing environment


Physical Demands:

• Sitting for extended periods of time

• Ability to perform repetitive motions with hands and wrist i.e. typing on a keyboard

• Physical ability to meet all the duties and responsibilities of the position

• Ability to see within normal parameters
